The founders of Advantech are former officers in the prestigious Naval Civil Engineer Corps/ SEABEES "We Build. We Fight" (The Construction Battalions of the United States Navy). J. Cameron Fraser is a former Rear Admiral in the SEABEES and Jack Fraser is a former SEABEE and Resident Officer in Charge of Construction for Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest.
RADM Fraser is a professional engineer with a naval career that involved over 15 assignments of increasingly challenging leadership and management responsibilities. He eventually earned direct leadership accountability for the performance of thousands of military and civilian personnel involved in buying and selling real estate, and designing, building and operating shore bases. In his final assignment he had responsibility for directing shore activity policy, programs and budgets for the US Navy. He was responsible for an annual $6 billion budget for new construction, bachelor and family housing, operations and maintenance of all shore facilities, utilities and ground transportation systems.
Jack Fraser is a professional engineer with a diverse twenty-five year background in engineering, design and construction, and construction management. Mr. Fraser has had ultimate responsibility for the delivery of quality services for projects ranging up to $4.5 billion in construction value. These projects have included services including construction quality inspection, materials testing, environmental, facilities and geotechnical engineering. Mr. Fraser is a former SEABEE and a Resident Officer in Charge of Construction with Southwest Division Naval Facilities Engineering Command. Construction experience includes large mixed-use developments, multi-story Bachelor Enlisted Quarters and Bachelor Officer Quarters, Navy Clubhouse, transportation infrastructure, water/waste water facilities and larger building construction. His design management experience has included a variety of geotechnical, environmental, civil and highway engineer projects ranging from preliminary soils studies to completed grading and paving bid documents.
Additionally, he is a former Senior Vice President of a major A/E Firm and was responsible for managing the complete operations of $130 M per year in engineering and construction revenue through 16 offices and 700 employees. He was with this firm for 15 years before founding Advantech.
